Dd17 smoking cigarettes and weed

I know it’s a very long road ahead of us all but I won’t stop fighting for her to be rid of the addiction that hold her at the moment.

She will see every doctor possible until she is ready and able to step back from it. And see clearly that it destroys lives.

I know there are people who live a completely normal life and have no problems but with her family history I don’t want her to play with fire.

Line of communication between us all as a family are most important now.

She hasn’t been prescribed anything because she is only 17 so gp can’t give anything. Has to come from a psychiatrist and she hasn’t seen one yet with cahms. Hopefully when I talk to her therapist there on Monday they can intervene with a psychiatrist.

My DD was prescribed an anti-anxiety med by the GP at 16 years old. Granted it was mild but he still prescribed it and she never saw a psychiatrist.

Little update

Found out she’s smoking a lot more than I originally thought upwards of €400 per month and I also smoking vapes

Cahms seeing her next week and hopefully they can help.

I’m considering maybe getting her to a legal cbt oil as an alternative but I don’t have any other ideas. I just feel we will take out the psychedelic element with the schizophrenia history with DH.

How is she funding €400 a month on top of cigarettes and vapes?
Also I wouldn't be substituting one product for another as that won't solve any issues.

Who is supplying it and how does she fund this? I know she has a part time job but does she pay for other things.

Very hard situation to be in. Is that 400 on weed? Or weed and cigarettes.

The weed and vapes total €400 per month. She doesn’t really smoke cigarettes apparently. She uses tobacco for the weed and that what she’s smoking.

She has a part time job every weekend and was handing up a very small amount to the household. We wanted her to save towards driving lessons and other things she said she’d like to do but if she can afford €400 on that crap she can afford to contribute more to the household.

Re; swapping 1 for another. Having researched cbd oil I think that maybe it’s the lesser of two evils. I don’t want her doing any of them. She said she’s try it for 1 week and if she doesn’t like we said we’d discuss the weed further.

I’ve frozen all her money so all she has is her leap card and can’t buy anything else. That doesn’t mean she’ll stick to it she could bum it off boyfriend or friends. I can’t believe a word from her mouth.

I’m so ashamed of myself and her. She was like a wild animal this evening. Running around trying to find money in the house. I wouldn’t give her the bank card so I was the worst person in the world. She ran out of the house and we found her walking with her boyfriend to try get weed on tick.

We went home minus the boyfriend and talked shouted and cried for age. I eventually cracked and agreed to bring her to buy €20 worth. She talked the dealer like she was making a call to her best friend no problems at all. Drove her to an estate close to ours and out she got and bought it. We divided it up and made it into little bags for have said she can have 1 joint per day. I’m gonna hide the bags and hopefully this will get us through till we get to the gp and cahms on Monday.

I want to run and bring her away for a few days and maybe go cold turkey but I have feckin dialysis every other day. It’s a pain in the ass
