She has to go back for the tablet on Friday. It seems like it will be a simple enough procedure. She is 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant.
I am grateful that she can do it this way.
I feel like I need to go into a room and have a long cry now as I am worn out.
I've been through a medical abortion with pills. If you need any advice at all on what to expect (I know you have the GP for that but personal experiences can differ), give me a shout.

You have been absolutely amazing throughout this, supporting your DD and not judging her will stand to your relationship in the future.

I would make sure you sit both her and her boyfriend down after this and talk to them about contraception. If she wasn't taking the pill properly she was not protected and condoms have a lower rate of success so that's why that combination didn't work.

Have that cry..you need it.
Glad her appt went well. You know it’s so positive she did ask for help as so many teens wouldn’t or couldn’t. I imagine it makes a world of a difference to her having support . You are a great mum xx

hopefully you will have had your big cry now and feel a little lighter with the decision made. Well done to all of you in coming together and making a decision that is right for her x No one knows what we will face along our life journey but having support makes it a whole lot easier x

Definitely have a cry! It is a very stressful situation but it is great that your daughter has your full support and an empathetic doctor. I hope she is OK too.
It is the decision I would wish my daughter to make in the same situation and I am grateful that now it is possible by visiting your own GP.
About 25 yrs ago I lent a girl I worked with money to travel to the UK for an abortion and she got an infection because she had to travel and hide instead of getting proper care.

I'm so glad you had the GP experience you did. Have that cry. You've been through a lot. And like SES says, you've handled it amazingly.

You must be worn out. You did everything correctly and it must have taken a lot out of you. I'm glad that your gp was so supportive. Take care

What a tough situation but it’s seems like you and your DD are handling it very well and have a good GP.
It is great that a trip to a GP is an option now rather than a trip to England.
Be kind to yourself.

It sounds like you and your DD are handling a difficult situation very well. It makes such a difference that your GP is offering this service. Be kind to yourselves.

Thank God there are options out there for young women like your DD now. She is a very lucky girl to have such a fantastic mother and an empathetic GP makes a world of difference too. I hope you and your DH are doing ok, it's a very stressful situation all round. Hope Friday goes ok xxx

Nothing more to add other than I am so so glad Ireland has changed so much. I was a very frightened pregnant slightly older teen in the mid nineties and am still scarred in many ways by it.

Take care of yourself too.

I’m glad your daughter has good support and advice. You’ve been through a huge trauma. Mind yourself too.
