Scammed

#1 Post by faganlesley »

I don’t know what to do. Hi DHhas invested €9,250 in what I have found out to be a scam company. This is every penny we have of money and we where eventually getting married next year after 18 years together.

No to give background DH has bipolar disorder and schizophrenia the last 5/6. Hasn’t worked and will never work again. Doesn’t have the mental capacity for it.

I myself have a few different illnesses the most recent being a small stroke last week. I got out of hospital yesterday on new medication and told to avoid stress. And this all unfolds today.

We have reported to the fraud department in ptsb and the guards but both have said the money is more than likely gone not to be seen again. I’m so angry with him for doing this behind my back. We literally haven’t got €10 in the bank.

I can’t stop crying I don’t know what to do. If we didn’t have our beautiful DD I think I would just kill myself. With being so sick and now this what is to live for.

How truly awful for you.
Is there any come back at all due to your partners mental capacity?
You have been through so much already. Your own health concerns and now this. I don't blame you feeling the way you do.

OP I'm so sorry to hear this, what a very stressful and upsetting time.

First and foremost, do you have someone to talk to? A therapist, close friend or family? You need to get those thoughts of suicide out of your head and deal with the upset you have at the moment - you're also ill, can you and your daughter stay with someone for a few days?

Practically speaking, do you have a source of funds or a way to tide you over until you get your next payment/income?

Look after yourself x

The bank reluctantly opened a fraud case but because he did the part to authorise the transaction they really can’t help.

I truly hate him right now.

My parents have said they will line us money to pay the bills until we get paid again but they don’t really have much to spare.

His parents are useless at the best of times. Just said ah sure these things happen it’s just money forget about it.

Oh faganlesley, hopefully something good comes out of the dispute being opened.

I hope you're ok tonight, it's an awful blow, on top of all the other challenges you are up against.

That is shit. Just so shit for your family. Don't let the bank get away with it. Pursue them. I hope you are feeling slightly better about it tomorrow. They took advantage of your DH. Screenshot as much evidence as you can.

I’ll help him try get the money back but the trust is gone and I don’t think I can ever forgive him for doing it behind my back. He knew I wouldn’t agree to it.

Only took 1 quick Google search to find they weren’t real.

OP I would hold off on getting married and rethink if you want to be tied financially and legally to this man for the rest of your life.
Close any joint accounts and safeguard your money.
