Does anyone have any experience of the coombe v holles street.
Ihave gone to holles street previously but was thinking of heading to the coombe.

Is there anywhere to park near the coombe without parking in the car park and also do you know if coombe have satellite clinics that are consultant lead.

There are satellite clinics with the Coombe. Check out their website.
I had 2 pregnancies & one baby in HS but went to the Coombe on my 3 other pregnancies. Coombe was far better in every way.
Parking, as with all hospitals isn't great, you can Q to get into coombe car park or drive further down the road near the Aldi and you can get street parking there.
Best of luck with your pregnancy.

I had my babies in the Coombe, I cant compare it to Holles St ad I have no experience of that hospital. But I would choose the coombe again purely for my consultant, she was amazing! Let me know if you want a recommendation

I had one in Holmes street and three in Coombe. Without doubt I’d chose the Coombe. But then I left Holles street in an ambulance for the icu in Vincent’s so my opinion is very coloured.

Does the coombe have an icu facility for mums then if you had of been there instead.

Has anyone attended the satellite clinics for holles street that are consultant led.

I had my first in Hollies St and my next two plus an ectopic in the Coombe.
I vowed walking out of holles st I’d never ever go back.
The coombe was far superior in the standard of care in every way.

I dont know being honest it was pure mismanagement that lead me to needing Icu care in the first place. My consultant in the Coombe was amazing I trusted him implicitly. We were laughed out of holles street for even contemplating having more children. I’m glad we persevered.

I had my first 2 in Holles Street and my next 5 in the Coombe. I was traumatised after a miscarriage experience and my second birth in Holles Street. I had a wonderful consultant in the Coombe.

Had 2 of mine in the Coombe, one in Scotland. Couldn't fault the Coombe. I was sick on both babies and was looked after with amazing care. My 1st was born very ill. The Coombe were brilliant with my last 2, given extra scans and both babies were give extra checks and ecg's before they left the hospital.

I had both of my children in the Coombe. DS was a preemie and the care he was given in both NICU & SCBU was incredible. His follow-up care was also second to none.

Certainly 18 years ago none of the Dublin maternity hospitals had an adult ICU and I don’t think it has changed. It is one of the reasons they are looking to put the new maternity hospital in Vincent’s.

Had all 3 in the Coomb and it was fantastic. I traveled from north louth for the second & third because of the care I received on DD1. The standard of care was faultless. In fact I was also born in the Coomb

I only have experience of Holles St (2 births)and it was with the community midwives through the domino scheme.. I can only say positives about them and my care during labour and their birthing suite ,all great. The hospital stay however left a lot to be desired. I couldn't wait to get out of the place!

I don't have experience of the Coombe but I had DD1 in Holles St. I could not wait to get out of the place. I had a stressful pregnancy with a lot of worry over DD1 but they were at their worst after she was born. The rudeness & lack of empathy of some of the midwives I will never forget. I had DD2 in the Rotunda with their community midwives. Such a difference in care, it was incredible. Showed up Holles St even more.
