Brain MRI advise

#1 Post by Question »

Hi,

Anyone ever had a brain MRI to be told there was a question over some white matter on the scan?

Ive been to an ENT because of balance problems, feeling dizzy/lightheaded all the time. He referred me
for an MRI. He's now sending me to see a neurologist as there is a Q over some white matter in the brain
on the scan. He said he doesnt think its serious but would like me to see someone else.
Might be waiting a month/two to see a neurologist privately.

He had a big long name for the condition which I have forgotten.

So anyone any advise. Regular but going anon for this.

Thanks

I would just say honestly don’t worry, if he’s not worried. He’s just looking for another opinion. Hope you get to the bottom of your symptoms though!

Don't assume the worse. Balance problems, feeling dizzy, etc. can be common enough symptoms of menopause (if you are approaching this age).

For example, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is a disorder arising from loose crystals in the inner ear. The Epley Manouvre is worth a try - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SLm76jQg3g
