agree on the clean break. A break up is really hard. Go easy on yourself.

Force yourself to eat as this will help you to feel better and will help you to sleep. Beaumont hospital has links for insomnia that could be worth trying. Keep yourself very busy and maybe come off social media. DOnt speak to him at all, have a clean break.

Look after yourself.

Evenings will be hard, do you have children? I'd say throw yourself into them? Or give the house a good declutter & clean before Christmas decorations. Try set a project.

But it's ok to feel sorry for yourself too. Have a takeaway, eat the rubbish, watch sad movies & have a cry. Let it all out.

That's very difficult, especially when it was he who initiated the breakup. Sorry to hear that. I guess the only thing that will help is time, which is a cliché, but true really. Try to keep busy in the evenings, and maybe do a walk or something before bed that will tire you out, but that may not be possible if you're on your own with children. Mind yourself x

sorry to hear that - but agree with above totally. And don't do the lets be friends thing either as you need a clean break otherwise you will be hoping he will come back.

A breakup is hard. Be kind to yourself. Don't contact him. Keep busy and it will get easier.

Relationship broken up

Hi, am a regular, gone anon. I am divorced a few years. I started a relationship two years ago with a great guy. We were friends first and it developed romantically. However,it is now over. He broke up with me last week :/ . There were warning signs, to be honest but I chose to ignore them. He has fallen out of love with me and I just have to accept it. I'm finding each day harder and harder :/ . Can't eat / sleep.

I know if have to accept it. Am staying away from social media, little things like that to avoid him. I'm. Gutted, just don't know what to do.
