I was going to suggest the same as worth exploring, it can take about 3 months to alleviate symptoms. Even with the diagnosis you have it could be worth looking in to as atrophy/dryness due to reduced oestrogen would exacerbate symptoms

We also used cortisone 1% on dd but wary of using it much as they (I believe) thin the skin.
She attended the derm in Crumlin publicly.

Thanks everyone. Should have said but was rushing that I have been with a Gyne and he thinks this is what I have.

Gave me a steroid cream which Im not joking burnt that whole area!! He has also referred me to a Derm. but even privately that could take many months.

I was just curious as to whether anyone here suffered the same and what they used.

Thanks for the replies. Anon as know too many and a bit embarrassed.

If you are menopausal or peri, oestrogen applied locally to vaginal area might be of use. Worth discussing with a GP who is clued up on menopausal topic.

The general advice for vulvar skin conditions is to wash with just water and use topical steroids if prescribed.

It could also be a condition called lichen sclerosus. Definitely go to the doctor to get it checked out and they will recommend an appropriate treatment. Make sure you wear cotton underwear.

Is this the same as vaginitis? Dd was destroyed with this for years, we found the moo goo irritable skin cream helpful.
