Thank you for all your encouragement and links and information. I have to stay anon throughout so I can't give ages or location .
I am worn out from today and am going to sleep on it and approach this with more clarity and confidence. I am terrified.

This is the principal's fault for letting this happen. I'm not sure how best to go about it but please do take this further. I've had lunatics teach me years ago and I know my kids are so lucky in their current schools. My kids have special needs too and the affect of a teacher like this on them would be an absolute disaster and would make home life hell for all of us. Having a good teacher and routine in school has done amazing things for my most challenging child, I can only imagine what he would be like if his teacher was not up to the job.
Please take it further.

if you have these concerns then fellow sna's must have noticed or have the same concerns and even some parents.

give as much information as you can so that it is not seen as a personal vendetta.

best of luck.
